“The ethos of care, courtesy, patience and interest in each individual is clear from Senior Management and across all staff levels and departments.”

Building Care Home Careers at Heartlands Care

At Heartlands Care, we are always looking for great people who genuinely care. Not people who just do care work – people who care deeply about making every day meaningful for the individuals they support.

This isn’t just a job. It’s the opportunity to make every day matter for people who deserve exceptional care delivered with warmth, respect, and genuine human connection.

What makes our care different

We don’t measure success by tasks completed (we expect this as standard). We measure it by relationships built, by moments of genuine connection, by the difference between a resident simply existing and truly thriving.

Care is not just what we provide. It’s who we are.

If you have a real desire to care for people and want to give them the best possible quality of life; if you’re naturally cheerful and enthusiastic, and if you’re fierce about protecting residents’ dignity, then a career at Heartlands Care could be the perfect fit for you.

When you join our team across the Midlands, you’ll have the time and support to get to know each resident as an individual. You’ll learn their stories, their preferences, what makes them laugh. You’ll discover that the best care happens not when you’re ticking boxes on a care plan, but when you’re sharing a cup of tea and a conversation, when you’re helping someone do something they love, when you’re simply being present.

This is what sets us apart. This is what makes care careers at Heartlands Care genuinely fulfilling.

The people we’re looking for

  • Care deeply – You have a genuine desire to make a difference in people’s lives. You understand that caring for someone goes far beyond meeting their physical needs and take a holistic approach to improve and maintain a high quality of life for those you care for.
  • Build relationships – You take time to really get to know people. You remember the small details that matter. You create genuine human connections.
  • Protect dignity fiercely – You treat every resident with absolute respect and dignity in every interaction. You’re their advocate, their champion, their voice when needed.
  • Bring enthusiasm – You approach each day with a cheerful, positive attitude. You understand that your energy and warmth directly impact residents’ happiness.
  • See the person, not the condition – Whether someone is living with dementia, recovering from illness, or adjusting to life in care, you see the whole person and their potential to enjoy life.
  • Want to make a real impact – You’re not looking for just a job. You want meaningful work where you can see the difference you make every single day.

What you’ll do

Your role goes far beyond personal care tasks. Yes, you’ll help with washing, dressing, medication, and mobility and of course, these are vital elements of care. But they are the minimum. As, if not more importantly, you’ll:

  • Spend quality time getting to know each resident
  • Support people to maintain their interests and hobbies
  • Create moments of joy, laughter, and connection
  • Help residents feel safe, valued, and part of a community
  • Work as part of a supportive team who share your values
  • Contribute ideas and creativity to activities and care approaches
  • Be part of making our homes true homes for life

Your career growth

Heartlands Care provides comprehensive free-of-charge training programmes, presenting opportunities for internal progression and personal growth. We welcome people with creativity and those who want to bring additional skills to their role, so that they and our residents benefit from their unique contributions.

Whether you’re new to care or experienced in the sector, we’ll support you to develop your skills, gain qualifications, and progress in your career. Many of our senior staff and managers started in care assistant roles and grew with us.

Why work at Heartlands Care

  • We’re family-run – This means real relationships, genuine values, and a personal approach to everything we do. Our owners are available 24/7 and are personally invested in both our residents and our staff.
  • You’ll have time to care – Our staffing ratios are higher than many care homes because we believe you need time to build relationships, not just rush through tasks.
  • Technology supports you – Our advanced digital systems handle the paperwork, freeing you to spend more time with residents doing what matters most.
  • Your voice matters – We value your insights and ideas. You know the residents best, and we want to hear from you about how we can continually improve their lives.
  • You’ll be supported – You’ll work with experienced colleagues, receive ongoing training, and have access to management who genuinely care about your wellbeing.
  • It’s rewarding work – You’ll go home knowing you’ve made someone’s day better. You’ll see residents thrive because of the care and connection you provide.
